What Thrifting Means to You.

At Evansville Goodwill Industries, Inc., our organization means something different to each person. From our donors and shoppers to our program participants and staff, everyone views Goodwill through their own unique lens.

Recently, I stopped by our Boonville, IN location and asked our team a simple question: “What does thrifting mean to you?”

Whether they’re processing donations in the back room or helping customers on the sales floor, our store staff see the impact of thrifting every single day. Their answers capture the exact heart of what we do.

The Thrill of Discovery

For some of the staff, the best part of thrifting is the excitement of the unknown.

Angie loves the eco-conscious side of the hunt, describing it as “saving something from the landfill, giving something new life, finding a treasure.”

Jessica shares that same passion for discovery, defining thrifting as “finding treasures that I can collect.”

Finding Good for Less

For others, the magic lies in the smart, everyday value. Barb, Vicky, and Shawna summed up the financial perk perfectly:

Sometimes, Simple Says It Best

And then there was Alex, who delivered the most honest and direct summary of all: “Good.”
